“Freedom is the right of all sentient beings” – Optimus Prime

First off, this is a response to everyone who cared in this difficult time of our wedding preparation. To those who somehow heard of the struggles we’ve been going through and you made a choice to stand with us, especially in prayer. We thank you for it. It really means something to us :)

If you’re wondering what Optimus Prime has to do with our wedding… Well, it really about freedom and the choices we make today.

I was thinking about this particular robot for all its worth. The idealist that first dreamt of mechanical beings that would respond with the capacity of emotions like humans. The animator who would put a face and form to this particular “leader of the pack”. But most of all, the creator who formed the very character of this hero, in a world that needed one even though it didn’t know it.

Sentient. Its defined as “having the power of perception by senses or emotion; consciousness”. In effect, we’re all sentient beings. We basically have a right of choice.

In retrospect of the past and current weeks of struggles, I’ve come to value freedom. A freedom that the Lord has given us in the Holy Spirit. “Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty” (2 Cor 3:17).

Much of the onslaught has been to curb and smother this liberty that we have in Him. Freedom to ask our God as we ask a loving father. We needed wisdom when work was overwhelming us. We needed strength when we had little rest. We needed comfort when we were beaten down. We needed healing when we’re down with sickness. At times, it came fast and furious. Other times, it was slick and subtle. All to achieve the aim to bind rather than be liberated in our never-ending Source.

Our friendly webslinging neighbourhood hero said: “We all have a choice.” The choices we make today will echo in eternity, whether we like it or not.

So, we’ve decided not to take our freedom to choose for granted and we cannot let our freedom of choice be taken away from us. Because eternity is at stake, regardless whether we see it or not. We walk by faith not by sight.

We are no longer slaves bound by fear (Rom 8:15). We choose to look up instead of down. We choose to look out instead of in. We choose to be up-beat instead of beaten-down.

You know, the Decepticons had all the cool machines… big tank, massive hauler, wicked fighter jets, sand swimming scorpion and even a cool stereo boom box. They seem to have everything while the good guys were just… cars… DUH.

Still, the big baddie Megatron, died in the hands of a “puny human” because he had the power of the Cube in his hands. We have a power that is not just in our hands but in our entire being. That’s the power of the Holy Spirit and to put it in a nasty way to our Enemy, its an overwhelming “unfair advantage” that we’ve got. He knows it and wants us to be so bound by our circumstances that we forget it.

God’s goodness and righteousness will prevail. Can you see it? Can you believe it despite the overwhelming odds? Abraham believed and it was counted to him as righteousness (Gen 15:6)

Ranting too much… but I pose this to us all:

Choose to dream colossal.
Choose to think colossal.
Choose to love colossal.
And most importantly, choose to DO colossal.

We serve a God in which ALL things consist. Is that big or is that big?

Don’t be beaten down. All things are possible with God.

Make a difference in someone’s life.

“Transform and roll out!” :)

Grace and peace,
Kelly and Fiona

Things have been getting very difficult

Hi folks,

Just wanted to update that things have been getting difficult in our wedding preparations. Recently, there's been quite a lot of miscommunications and tempers have been getting short.

Along with the work load (which we're both entering our peak season from 1 July - 16 Aug), the home renovations, wedding prep has taken its toll on simple things like rest at night.

There are many who want to help but I think they are helping in the way which is not the best way for us. Do ask us how you can if you wish to. Cos sometimes, the "help rendered" makes things worse.

We both believe that its a spiritual thing at work because of the things that we've been doing (like street evangelism) for the extension of the Kingdom of Heaven. It doesn't really look like lots but it seems to have upset Ol' Grouch.

Let me give you a simple example (there are many more):

I just finished my fitting of my suit for my wedding shoot due on 26th July. The weather today was blistering and that didn't help. When we finally got a cab back to a food court to have a meal. In the course of getting our food, Fiona tripped on a tiny step and spilt soy sauce that she was carrying in a little saucer into my bag (that was slung high on my arm) carrying my 2 shirts to be used for my wedding. The shirts were tucked in a ANOTHER plastic bag that only had a small opening. Lo and behold, the tiny opening let almost all the soy sauce onto my shirts. Talk about "accurate". Grrr.

The place that we were sitting was also unbearably hot as compared to places just 5 meters away in the food court.

Like I mentioned, this is just ONE of the "situations". It has been going on and on for the last 2 weeks.

I get so upset that I start reminding the Devil that his time is coming that he's going to burn in the Lake of Fire FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER.

Please pray for us. Just 2+ more months and anything can go afoul. We're not going to give up.

May the Blood of the Lamb cover us all.

Thanks for your prayers,
kelly

My dear friend Frances (3rd from right) who left for HK last sun. She's been really a good testimony as can be seen from the number of her church mates and friends who turned up at the airport to send her off. =) I'll miss you!! Praying God's protection and grace and strength upon you =)
On the job front , this is my 4th week, grace grace and more grace. Beginning to feel the tension of time as we prepare for the wedding and house reno. But i'm holding on to His promise, that His presence will go b4 us and give us rest!
Take care all!

Tom's the 4th week of my time at my new place. I'm asking for more grace.
