What i've been busy with =)

Kareen my good friend since sec school's wedding on 12 May! Was privileged to offer my help as a jie mei and emcee. Just before the wedding, Kareen's mum was hospitalised for throat infection and was only released the day of Kareen's wedding. So it's really by God's grace that she could come. It was the prayer of the saints too, Kareen and hubby Guowei mobilised everyone they knew to pray, very thankful that it all worked out! Praying tt God would bless them with a wonderful marriage ahead!
My brother, back from army, needless to say, there had to be pizza awaiting him! =) Keeping u in prayer Fabian! Hang in there. So happy that God's been speaking to him throughout his BMT, may he continue to find strength in Him for the rest of the 2 yrs ahead!!! =)
Vanessa's (girl 2nd from left) farewell treat for the colleagues at the yummy Yinzhong shop tt sells xiaolongpau, la mian, and my fav red bean pancake. It was really sad seeing Van leave on 23 May, then Wenching (girl 1st from left) had her farewell yesterday. 15 June would be my turn... wonder if i'd tear .... i must say God has blessed me with the best colleagues in the world. I've the best teammates and boss too. Really difficult to depart... Grace grace.... =)
Oh yes, did i mention that my trip to Israel got published in my company's newsletter? Quite happy with it, cos it gave me an opportunity to talk about God and Israel. =)

Got our flat... after some hoohah...

Well, not much has been happening on the front of our wedding. We just sealed the deal for our flat in Simei at HDB. Was quite an experience before this as we had some issues with our seller wanting to stay on for another 1+ month for free while we started to service our mortgage. Not such a nice experience but thank God that it went well.

I was in the US on a business trip when the whole thing "blew up" and Fiona handled it superbly! She such a blessing! Now I realised how tiring a "jet setting" lifestyle can be. I flew 33 hours (4 airplane rides) just to get to my first location! I stayed in the US for about 5 days and I took 10 flights in all... that's tiring.

Ok, so that's the latest update on us. We're taking it a bit easier now for the time being. Need to recharge for the phase near the wedding. We'll give our helpers more info soon!

Cheers :)

Keeping it alive...

Well, I realised that Fiona has been faithfully posting up stuff but I've been quite a laggard in this aspect. She's really been great in keeping everyone posted on the progress of this major event in our lives.

We've been running the thought of possibly changing venues because we don't feel too good about certain aspects of our current choice. But costs run pretty high in the rest of the venues and we're really praying that things will work out.

We're also planning a 2-4 week fast before our wedding to prepare ourselves. All we really want is for the presence of the Lord to be in the midst of His people. In His presence, people are changed.

Do keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we trudge through this path that we've never walked.

For the First time ...

THE PARENTS MEET FOR THE FIRST TIME! It was pretty fun, we had food tasting at the hotel where we'd hold the dinner and it was pretty good! The food and the company! Thank God the siblings all knew each other from church so it was a rather smoothsailing event! YAY PRAISE GOD!

Kelly's birthday celebration

Dinner at Wildrocket Dinner with the family @ Beads Restaurant

Thanks to Wen Ching's recommendation, we had dinner at the wildrocket, tt's somewhere at mount emily, behind the new cathay cinema. Do check it out, it's rather interesting, opened by a lawyer turned chef. A must try is the duck, which kelly ate, very good indeed!

Had a good weekend, particularly enjoyed Resurrection Sunday's message.(http://www.cscc.org.sg/cornerstone/spiritualfood/spiritualfood2.htm) It's crystal clear, the hope that the resurrection of Jesus brings. I'm so glad that apart from saving me from death, there's an eternal glory to look forward too, with new heavenly bodies to boot!
Are you certain of your eternity?

Picture of the wedding dinner venue

Mabbe we had too high expectations of the food, after all, it's sichua dou hua. hmm.. guess this means we have to get a better menu so it's more enjoyable then! Can't wait for food testing! No to the ra ra first dish gongfu entry as well.

We checked out a wedding at plaza hotel...

Hello everyone,

We went to a wedding dinner of one of our friends at Plaza hotel. We were eager to test the food and see how things were run.

In general, the food was deemed as above average (didn't really meet our expectations though).

We didn't really find the atmosphere good somehow... don't know why.
The music was way too loud at certain parts and we felt that the food progression was really slow. We ended at about 1045pm... Aiming to wrap everything up, including dessert, by 10pm for ours. We don't wanna be a drag for our relatives and friends.

We're really going to try to start on time (730pm). It will be unprecedented especially in Singapore's "everyone's-going-to-be-late-anyway" wedding culture! But we're going to make it REALLY clear to all our guest that we really appreciate that they be on time.

We're also having some issues with the guest list. Praying for wisdom on how to handle that...

Grace and peace for the week ahead everyone! Its a short work week! :)

This is a Friday that we REALLY have to thank God for... because it reminds us of the price that He paid for us.
