Met kelly for dinner today after not seeing each other for a week, that's how crazy it gets sometimes at work, so we try as far as possible, to grab a meal tog before heading home to rest. He's been physically down this week with a bad tummy, throat and all, yet making every effort go to work nonetheless, his discipline and commitment nv fails to amaze me. Pray that he'll be completely healed cos he really dislikes downtime.
Today at dinner, we talked about having meaning to work. Something prompted by his business lunch meeting when a fund manager asked him and others, what they were working for. It's true, it's pure drudgery to drag ourselves to work everyday , reading meaningless financial statements if we don't have a vision of where we're heading towards. My first thought was , we are to be diligent with our hands, and we work to pay for the basic necessities, tt's why i work. But on second thoughts, there has to be more than tt! kelly told the story of Anthony Robbins, and how he just wanted to bless a family anonymously, the same way he was blessed, which is why he worked and saved for an entire year.
Could it be that our labour can accomplish more than what we have allowed ourselves to think possible? What's your vision?
Fiona
